Frequently Asked Questions

Can one person really run a cross-border store?

Yes — if the repetitive work is automated. Cross-Border Engine chains sourcing, cost-based pricing, freight estimation, listing generation, content production, post-purchase review requests, buyer win-back and sales-data reflow into one pipeline a single operator can run.

Do I need to connect my eBay / Amazon / Etsy accounts?

No. Nothing is bound to your marketplace accounts. Paste an exported sales CSV or review text and the engine scores, tiers and generates creatives from it. We store no marketplace API keys or passwords.

How do I source products? Is 1688 the only option?

Two tracks: domestic platforms (1688, Yiwu, Pinduoduo, Taobao) for zero-inventory product testing, and local factories/workshops you can visit in person to photograph, negotiate terms and inspect samples. Once a SKU clears ~50 orders/month, move it to a local factory for customization.

How is pricing calculated?

Backward from landed cost: factory price + packaging + domestic freight + first-leg shipping (matched to sea/air/express by weight) + marketplace commission + FX loss + ad rate + return loss. It outputs the breakeven price, target-margin price and a suggested list price, with warnings when margin is breached.

What about content? Does it need to look polished?

Plain beats polished. Shoot vertically on your phone, no ring light, no filter, talk like a human. Overseas buyers trust a clip that looks real more than one that looks like an ad. Image, short-video, English AI-presenter and 3D sales-visual generation are one click away when you want them.

How does acquisition turn into a closed loop?

Acquisition is only step one: on-site promotions convert the traffic, an English AI agent handles inquiries, compliant review-request emails go out, buyer groups are segmented for win-back (purchased / carted / following / repeat-viewers), then weekly marketplace reports are fed back for re-scoring and the next creative batch. Each cycle makes the next one sharper.

Which marketplaces and markets are supported?

The catalog holds 71 overseas marketplaces across 10 regional groups. eBay and Etsy publish directly (API / adapter); seven more platforms — Mercari (US/JP), Poshmark, Carousell, OpenSooq, Dubizzle and Bunjang — are auto-published via RPA; 10 platforms in total support credential binding. 68 platforms produce a copy-paste listing packet for the seller dashboard. Core markets are US/UK/DE/FR/JP/AU/CA, with sea / air / express / China-Europe rail freight and per-country VAT / IOSS / de-minimis notes.

Is my business data safe?

Data is partitioned per user so each account only sees its own records. No marketplace credentials are collected; secrets stay in server-side config files and never reach the browser or chat transcripts.
